Nicolas CHRETIEN was born in Paris, France, on December 29, 1977. In 2001, he graduated from ENSICA (Ecole Nationale Superieure d’Ingenieur en Aeronautique) in Toulouse, France, and in 2002, he graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State university (“Virginia Tech”), in Blacksburg, Virginia (USA), with a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering.

In 2002 he joined Dassault Aviation in Saint-Cloud near Paris, France, within the military customer support division, in charge of product support and development for the Rafale combat aircraft.
 
In 2006, he joined the Marketing division of Airbus within the Europe and Latin America business unit, looking after a diversified portfolio of airlines and being involved in several successful sales campaigns for Airbus.
 
In 2008, he joined the Customer Finance division of Airbus/EADS, where he is now responsible for managing relationships with aircraft financiers and investors worldwide, as well as identifying and supporting aircraft financing and sell-down opportunities.
 
As part of the structured finance team, he is involved in various projects to develop innovative solutions in partnership with banks and/or investors to provide additional financing capacity for Airbus deliveries.
