Michael Schmeltzer

As Managing Director, Passenger Sales for US Airways, Michael has responsibility for all agency and corporate sales for US and Canada point-of-sale. Prior to US Airways, Michael was Senior Director, Global Hotels for Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT). He had responsibility for the management of all preferred hotel relationships around the world. Previous to this role, Michael served as Director, Industry Relations for CWT, handling air and car programs in the Americas.
Michael started in the travel industry in 1999 working for Rosenbluth International in Philadelphia. Starting in the role of General Manager, E-commerce Strategies working on biztravel.com and travelution.com and finally as Director of Supplier Relations. Michael also worked on the supplier relations integration team with American Express after their acquisition of Rosenbluth in 2003.
Before entering the world of travel, Michael worked for three years for Honda Motor in Tokyo, Japan in their Corporate Strategies Division. Michael graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and a Masters in Business Administration from Georgetown University and makes his home in Philadelphia with his wife and three children.
