David Parkinson
ATM Researcher

David Parkinson is a graduate of St John’s College Oxford, a Member of the British Computer Society, a Chartered Engineer, a Chartered IT Professional and a Private Pilot. He began work with Hawker Siddeley Aviation on avionic and navigation systems. He has been responsible for developing major systems such as Oceanic ATC at Prestwick and Vessel Traffic Management for Rotterdam Harbour. He wrote the requirement to replace NATS’ Flight Data Processing System and was the UK’s lead technical analyst for the European Flight Data Processing project. His major work has been the development of the New Model, a simple but comprehensive concept for future Air Traffic Control.
