Captain Lee Woodward

After an Aerospace Design degree at Kingston University in the UK, Lee joined British Airways on their sponsored cadet programme and went on to fly for BA on the B757/767 and B747 fleets before joining their training team as an Instructor and Examiner in the late 1990’s.

Having joined CTC as Chief Training Captain – Generic training to oversee the ‘bridge’ training courses (MCC) for pilots with frozen ATPL about to undergo Type Rating training; these days Lee is Head of CTC Wings – a programme launched by CTC Aviation in 2002 to provide sponsorship opportunities for aspiring pilots seeking their first employment opportunity with an airline.   As Head of CTC Wings, Lee oversees the selection of pilots and liases with CTC’s existing partner airlines, as well as maintaining a focus on attracting new partner airlines to the programme.  He still flies the B757 as a Captain on a part time basis for one of CTC’s partner airlines, continues to be involved in generic training and instructor training, and is an active TRI/TRE on the B757 for CTC.

Lee has also been an Executive Director of CTC Aviation Training (UK) Limited since 2006 and was appointed Executive Director of CTC Aviation Training (NZ) Limited and CTC Aviation Services in 2007.
