Australian Wings Academy (AWA) is a professional pilot training academy specialising in flight training for airline cadets and self sponsored commercial pilots. The Academy has been operating since 1980, and was formerly known as Gold Coast Aviation Centre. Until 2005 the Academy focused on training private pilots and part time commercial pilots.

AWA offers training for a Commercial Pilot Licence and Command Instrument Rating. Our Diploma of Aviation course includes the CASA Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) and a Command Instrument Rating – Multi Engine (CIRME). The Diploma syllabus is specifically tailored to getting international students “airline ready” for the right-hand seat of a commercial multi-crew transport aircraft.

AWA offers additional courses including Dangerous goods; Multi Crew Co operation (MCC) and Cockpit Resource Management (CRM); as well as turbine transition and jet bridging.

AWA currently trains 120 students per annum. These students come from the Middle East, India, Asia, and South Pacific

AWA is well placed to take advantage of the huge number of students that will need to be trained over the next 10 years. We have the skilled staff and high quality product that airlines demand from a flight training centre.

Oxford Aviation Academy (OAA) offers JAA approved aviation training from ab initio through to type rating including base and line training. Cabin Crew and EASA 147 approved Engineering training are also provided by the Academy. The recent acquisition of Parc Aviation adds aviation resourcing and technical support services to the Group portfolio.

Aviation Training - Ab initio
OAA can provide ab initio training for EASA/JAA compliant professional licences from its facilities in Melbourne, Oxford and Phoenix Airport. Training is usually concluded with a Jet Operations course to prepare cadets for the transition from light piston-engined aircraft to commercial jet and turbo-prop operation.
Aviation Training - Type
When qualified, pilots progress to type training, OAA can provide a wide range of courses from Dash-8, Jetstream and Saab 340 through a range of Airbus, Boeing, McDonnell Douglas, Fokker and Embraer types under approvals issued by JAA, Chinese and Hong Kong authorities. OAA is also a manufacturer-approved facility for Airbus, Embraer, Saab and Bae.
